Women In Gumball Machine Dress – Hot or Not?

Hello gentlemen. I know I may very well get some crap from a few of you for posting these pictures but common. A vending machine does look best on a young women right?

I know you guys are aching to get your significant other in this dress. Perhaps a way to kick of a romantic evening after a hard day vending. In all reality all that means is driving several hundred miles with quarter bags full to the brim and you now dreaming of theses young women in the gumball machine dress.

I do not believe the women that makes these dresses has an affiliation with the vending machine world. However, I would have to say that she is very creative. The women that makes these dresses can be found at Ms. Coyotepeyote .

As you guys may have been wondering the dresses sell for $135 bucks. Perhaps these women can actually get their money back by vending  the gumballs that come with the dress. The first dress that actually pays for itself. To be honest hiring a women to ware one of these dress and stand next to your gumball machine may increase your profit margins. Especially if it is a location with lots of competitor machines. Way to stand out.

Now that you know how great this vending business really is they come out with something different that works happens to work really well. What I mean by works is the fact that society is changing. Society is saying that we should not have obese children and that we should help them get out and get active after school. A lot of vending machine operators are asked to take their snack vending machines out of the schools because soda is bad for kids and the snacks are not healthy choices. Not only are vending machine operators using this to their advantage they are capitalizing on this market segment.
The market is for fresh and healthy items to be vended out of their machines. In the example above the vending operator dedicates his machine to fresh cut apples. What a wonderful idea right? The trick is all about looking at your machine or the products you are offering differently. Instead of removing the snack machine from the school Bob was able to keep his Snack machine route by offering fresh and health products.

Now if you think fresh and healthy products are only selling out in schools you are wrong. Broaden your horizons and think about popular fitness gyms or yoga studios. Sliced apples may work for you however so my Red bulls, Gatorade and Power Bars.

Something I truly love about vending machines is trying to figure out what will actually sell in a location and think about unique areas that do not currently have vending machines in them. The ole, “hit em were they aint” routine.
The opportunities for running a coin operating business are really endless. We as operators just have to be willing to really put some thought into what items will sell and what locations will we can sell those items.

Alright so its not chopped liver but this vending machine is so unique that it can get you into vending machine locations that never existed. I mean really with all of this out of the box thinking there is a great deal of opportunity for success. If we are creative and have a desire to succeed we will do well in the vending machine life.

Unique Vending Machines

I want to take minute and give you a perfect example of what can happen when we get creative about our vending machine placement. Vending machines will not just vend items that you can find from your bulk vending distributor. Perhaps we should more frequently think outside the box and see what other items will vend in a vending machine. Once vendable unique items are discovered and found to vend properly through vending machines we can then take a moment and think about high earning locations that our items will vend through.

To give you an example take a look at the vending machine in the picture. It is full of corn and placed to at the deer exhibit at a privately owned petting zoo.  Bird feed and pellets to feed fish and other items can be found around the petting zoo. Would you have guessed that a mini vending route could have been setup in such a way? A follow up question is, what do you think the mini vending route would bring during a service cycle.

This route is setup at in an area that gets enormous seasonal traffic. The summer time around these parts is strictly bananas. Seriously, travelers, campers, locals and even people from out of the country come to visit this area of the country. Can you think of an event with similar activities that attracts lots of people in your area? Let me first answer the how much this route makes during the busy months and I can tell you that I was shocked at what my friend Jim told me. He said during the summer months he services his specialty route twice a day. Jim’s first service is around 11am before lunch re-stocking the machines and collecting an average of $950 dollars from the machines during that service cycle. Jim would go home for the rest of the afternoon and return around 8pm to re-stock and collect an average of $1100 hundred dollars. I about fainted when I calculated in my head Jim’s daily gross sales for the busy months.

To give you another prospective let’s do a little math for one of Jim’s busy months for this revenue. Let’s round down a smidge to help make the math easy.  Jim’s mini route grosses $2000 dollars a day and we will multiply that by 30 for the days in one if Jim’s busy months. We are taking $60,000 thousand dollars. How many people’s complete vending routes are big enough to generate $60 thousand dollars in a year?

We do not have to do what everyone else is doing to create a lot of wealth in the vending machines business. If there are a lot of vending machines in your area there is still room for you if you can be creative. From Jim’s personal example you can see that being creative really pays big. Off the top of my head I can think of other events and unique Ideas for placing vending machines: Street fairs, County fairgrounds, golf courses, city or county festivals and the list goes one. Can you think of any unique vending ideas to post below that are not currently listed?
