Buy a Vending Machine That Accepts Cards

Plastic – The Modern 1980′s Quarter Rush

If you are interested in purchasing a snack machine or soda vending machine I want you to keep some very simple things in mind. In the 1980’s the world revolved around cash and checks. In those days we would get a location setup with a nice Pac-Man vending machine and pull $800 dollars out of the machine in just a few days. Now what does that little story have to do with purchasing soda or snack machines the answer is very simple. There is not gobs and gobs of cash in peoples hands anymore. We are in the digital age and we humans like to pay with digital cash or debit rather. There is so much information out there it drownds people every single day. So today I have a little rhyme to help you remember vital principles in our vending times. “Coins are great, coins are fine, add a bill validator for revenue devine. Now you see bills stacking up, nothing close to plastic son, giddy-up” Since 2008 economy crash quarters and cash have been drying up. For a high volume bulk rack that only accepts quarters add a change machine. For your food and beverage machines that only accept change and cash trust that a debit card will earn you more money every single day. Just take a look at what some people are saying about cash today.

Facebook Talk:

Zi’yel Paciotti I can’t wait till my f’in debit card gets here I hate carrying cash…ugh feels weird…| See More Cash Chatter

Patty McIntyre People in line at Walmart laughing at me for charging 13 cents on my credit card D: Well, you know what’s crazier than charging 13 cents?! CARRYING CASH.| See More Cash Chatter

New or used machines really do not matter if you get the vending machines for the right price. However, if you have a vending machine that is compatible with a debit card reader. Hands down you will Gross more money than you ever have in your life before. Trust me.

3 Things Included in a Great Vending Machine to Buy

Things to know before you buy

Over the past couple weeks I have spoken a lot about buying vending machines.  The reason I speak so frequently about the ins and outs of purchasing vending machines is because cash flow really will affect your ability to turn a profit.  Without money your business will fail. If a day goes by that you do not bring in money then you have just created your first daily loss. As with many small businesses during these hard economic times they are failing because the cash in many instances of the word has simply dried up. Everyone should be out making money every single day of the week.

Getting a great deal on a vending machine really is the ticket to being successful and profitable in a shorter amount of time. I pay $5 bucks for a machine or even $50 bucks for a single machine and I will likely be out from under that vending machine in 30 days.

  1. Make sure the vending machine can be disassembled.  If the coin mechs do not come off the machine you cannot replace and fix them when they jam or break. | Great Buy
  2. Make sure the machines you are operating are still supported by the manufacturer. Meaning if you can no longer order a coin mech or candy wheel you are in trouble.
  3. Make sure the salesman sends you a copy of the manual and you are comfortable with assembly of the machines before they arrive to your house. The sooner the better when it comes to assembly and out on location making money.

With these tips you are sure to turn a profit faster in your vending business. So be sure to get great deals on your vending equipment because generally your will need some time to figure out what types of products or selling in your area.

3 Places To Score Big On Vending Machine Purchases

When getting into business you always have to be thinking about saving money. The less it cost you in start up money the faster you will be out from under your investment and into the black making money. Debt for a business is very deadly and I do not recommend playing around with it. I want to share with you a few insider secrets to saving money on start up and for getting great deals on vending machines.  My first vending machine purchase was 10 candy cranes purchased from a bigger vending machine operator. Frequently the big operators with vast amounts of corporate locations are replenishing there equipment with new machines. This leaves a great opportunity for who have friends in the vending machine business. In business it can be very difficult for people to be nice and to work together. Really there is nothing that has helped me out more than working with other people in the vending business. I would recommend joining the Vending Forum because you can get to know people that will really help you out and share information with you that you may not learn anywhere else. In addition, you may be able to network with someone that will be liquidating old equipment. So with enough said I have a few tips for great sources for vending machines at a killer price.

  1. Ask your bulk vending supplier if they know anyone looking to get rid of old equipment. They know plenty more people in this business than you. Trust me.
  2. Check out craigslist. There is nothing wrong with building a vending route as you have money to go along. You can find killer deals here.
  3. Using websites like ebay and amazon.com to score great deals on used vending machines.

10 Tips For Buying The Right Vending Machine

Buying vending Machines

So you have decided to purchase vending machines and go into the all cash business.  What can I say, I would highly recommend it. The trick is to not be sold by some random company that offers Chinese plastic vending machines. Trust me this happens all the time. This guy I met through a friend was getting a divorce. Apparently they dropped around $40,000 thousand dollars on vending machines that came with stands and everything.  Guess how much I paid for all fifty machines with their stands and all? Most were in the box still and were that way until they were sold to be for $200 dollars. That’s right fifty machines with really nice pipe stands.  What a tragedy for them. The machines were made of super cheap plastic. The coin mechs were not name brand and were riveted to the plastic side walls. Some of them broke from normal use and the machine had to be trashed because the mech was generic and riveted to the plastic. The candy wheels could not be removed and when candy was stuck together the machines could not be fixed. So unless you plan on scoring a deal of less than $5 dollars per machine I would recommend that you follow the following 10 tips.

  1. Purchase a brand name. Well at least a machine that uses brand name coin mechs. They are serviceable and will last forever.
  2. Make sure the only plastic in the machine is the plexy glass.
  3. Make sure the machine is easy to fill with product
  4. The machine has to be easy to pull money from. Not awkward or goofy to get your hand on the coin bucket.
  5. Make sure the machine accepts money easily for all ages.
  6. Make sure the machine delivers product easily for kids and adults.
  7. Make sure the machine is not top heavy. You don’t want any accidents from machines falling on people.
  8. Know what types of machines people are interested in your area.
  9. Know what types of products you plan to sell.
  10. Know where to purchase the products you plan to sell.

Win the Purchasing Battle Before It Begins

Hello everyone. Most battles in war are won before the actual battle has ever begun. What I am talking about is preparation. Before locating you have to actually have a vending machine to place. Before you have a vending machine you have to shop around for a great deal on a vending machine. Now before you decide to start combing the internet for deals on vending machines there are a couple things that I recommend you do.

  1. Investigate your area to see how many vending machines are in your area. Please do not be turned away by this it will actually save you time and money. If there are lots of machines that does not mean there is not an opportunity for you to succeed. Just note to yourself what machines are out there so you don’t purchase a garage load of machines that are currently saturated in your area. |Market Research Article
  2. Buy something different that you can add to the current locations with competitor vending machines in them. You already know they are friendly to vending business. You can be successful with this method trust me. I have done it myself.

If you follow those two very simple steps I promise you will be on your way to purchasing the right vending equipment for your area. Even if you area is saturated with sticker machines doesn’t mean you cannot make money in your area with your own sticker machines. All I am trying to convey is that it takes more of a skilled vending operator with seasoned locating skills to be able to do that.

Please enter your email address and subscribe so you can be notified of hot off the press information.

3 Reasons Vending Machines With Lights Work

Spiral Gumball Machine with Lights

Attract customers with lights

Adding lights to any vending machine is guaranteed to attract more customers and generate sales. The concept is very simple.

The lights themselves are known in the vending machine industry as attraction lights. This concept really speaks for itself. You add lights to your machine and kids are completely drawn to the flashing lights.

If you were anything like me growing up every time you heard a siren from a fire truck or ambulance I would look for the lights. There is something exciting about seeing lights and hearing noise.

My favorite time of year as a kid was Christmas and we loved driving around the neighborhoods and towns looking at all the Christmas lights.

Lights bring a crowed. Or at least give people the attention span to look at your machine. Sometimes that is all it takes to generate sales from vending machines. The opportunity for people to look at your vending machine and see that there is something they would like to have.

Even if that means the purchase is impulsive that is ok. People love to be entertained and are willing to pay a little money for it.

Flashing lights get people excited. Excited people become interested and interested people love to buy. Especially if the items you are selling is inexpensive and the perceived value for your products is high.

An easy way to increase perceived value with a vending machine is “LIGHTS”. I want everyone who has machines that use lights to post a comment on the difference in revenue they have generated.

Vending Machine Universal Key

I don’t know about you guys but since I have started in the vending machine business I have accumulated tons and tons of keys. I buy a used piece of equipment and I get keys. I purchase 15 new machines I get different keys and the list goes on.

Really there is nothing like going into a vending machine location and wasting time trying to find the right key. The keys for the gumball machines are different than the sticker machine keys and the sticker machine keys are different than the 2” capsule machines.
If you operate only bulk vending equipment for example stickers, 1” items, and 2”items then you will only have three keys and three keys really isn’t that bad.

My current set of keys is in the picture here in the video. However, my goal is to shrink my key ring down to 5 keys. I know for a fact that goal is going to be hard to meet because some machines are not compatible with certain locks. For example my padlocks can be keyed all of the same but the key for the crane machines has to be different than all of the padlock keys.

I plan on updating my bulk vending racks to all have the same barrel locks. What is awesome about that is the gumball barrel locks are only a half turn. You don’thave to sit there and spin the fat wad of keys around and around until the lock comes off. Beaver Vending Machine Manufacturer I have found to have the best solution for this.

If you know any other place to get the same bulk vending locks please let me know by posting a response in the comments below.
Padlocks that are all keyed the same are easy to come by. Feel free to use google or click the following link. Have a great day and as always, “Successful Vending.”

Vending Machine Franchise

Some of the most popular Franchises in The United States are really blue chip companies. Mc Donalds is one of the most well know franchises around the world. Do you have a guess on how much a Mc Donalds franchise will cost?

Well not to mention the fact that you have to pay for your building and property expenses. You have to pay the franchise $45, 000 dollars a year for an agreement of 20 years. In addition to the hefty annual fee, there is also a profit share of %12.5.

I want everyone to know that even with a high profile franchise like Mc Donalds that there are some the fail within the franchise.
There is nothing more annoying to me than to see a guy over sell a franchise to another person. Heck, I think most people that sell franchises are only in the business to sell franchises. Out Of Business Mc Donalds

Let me share true personal story with you. I went to a business owner shindig. We had a BBQ and the food and the friends where great.
I will never forget when a friend was telling me about the fruit smoothie and veggie wrap business he just purchased and he introduced me to the man who sold it to him.

The franchise salesman could not help himself even with my friend in his presence. I will call the salesman Jim because I do not remember his name. So Jim says, “Randall, what do you do for a living?” I said “Jim, I run vending machines” and I kind of gave him my elevator pitch on the type of equipment I operate.

The next words out of Jim’s mouth really shocked me. He said, “Huh, are there any franchises available for vending machines?” “I imagine there are I have never thought about that. I never really had a need for that.

I realized at that moment this slime ball sold my buddy a franchise not caring about what happened to my friend and now he was interested in opening a franchise in the vending business. A business by the way, he only new about from a 5 minute conversation he had with me.
Needless to say I was very sad my friend got sold on his smoothie franchise and after 2 years my friends doors where closed.

When it comes to the vending machine business it is best to start with one or two vending machines and then work your way up to full time. There is
not one vending machine franchise that I would ever recommend.

There is plenty of free information to help you be successful in the vending machine business.

Vending Machine Accidents

Vending Machine Accidents Statistics

Are you confident that vending machine accidents statistics are in your favor as a business owner? After the research I have recently done I am not convinced. You are more likely to be killed or injured by a vending machine than by lightning.

The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission recorded 37 deaths and 113 injuries from 1978 to 1995. For those without a desk top calculator that is an average of 2.18 deaths per year and 3.05 injuries per year.

Now the CPSC report was to show that Soda Machines where safer with a label warning people of injury or death if shaken to get free product or money from the machine.

Anyone that has been around any type of vending machine will know that shaking a machine will only get the individual hurt or killed. Warning Do Not Tip - Soda Snack Machine Sticker 3 Same

However, a single gumball machine that a kid is climbing on and ends up pulling that gumball machine down on themselves will certainly cause bodily injury. With any injury there is the potential of lawsuit.

If you have run a large vending machine route for years and years you may have experienced these vending machine accidents statistics yourself. The unfortunate situation starts when the little girl’s parents just happen to have a camera to shoot the pictures of the vending machine on top of their little girl along with her injuries.

All in all that is what you pay insurance for. They will send lawyers to handle and settle any claim that you have.
Any type of label you have to place on your machine warning idiot’s of the inherent danger of being crushed like a soda can. That would be great.
