Vending That Still Works During An Emergency




During a heavy rain storm or major disaster like an earthquake Japan experienced last year all electrical snack and full line vending machines will quite working. But what if there was a machine that did work during an emergency with long periods without electricity? My first thoughts were that if people in a desperate emergency situation find a vending machine. They will probably break into it for food and other items regardless if the power is working or not. Really!

Sanden is a Japanese based company that has created a full line of vending machines that are not dependent on electricity. If the power goes out the customer simply has to crank the generator handle less than 100 times to generate enough power to purchase 6 or 7 drink items. Perfect, enough cranking to stay continually thirsty. You will sell out during an emergency where there are thirsty cranksters.

This may sound horrible but I feel like buying a special truck load of these things to drop off during times of disaster in our nation. Talk about swooping someone’s vending route. Right? I am confident I will burn for that little quip.
My heart does reach out to those people that fall into calamity and disaster in our nations. Perhaps the March 2011 disaster in Japan is really what has pushed Sanden to come up with this type of vending machine.

Japan is a unique place with vending machines the serve out farm fresh eggs to milk and they are on every inch of ground.
