Seattle’s April Fool’s Day Prank Goes Wild

Good morning everyone. Today I have to keep the conversation light. Sunday was April 1st also known to the world as April fool’s day. Did any of you guys pull off any pranks? I sure did not. I treated it just like any other Sunday. A few smart individuals wanted to make April first a day some may never to forget.

Seattle Washington is home to not only a beautiful skyline and busy Pikes Market. Seattle is home to one of the most ingenious marketing eateries on the Pacific West Coast. The restaurant is called Ivar’s and their marketing campaign is really working.

From discount cards for seniors over 55 who sign up for the Carte Clam Club Card they get benefits of things like eating free on their birthday and getting other meals free based on how often they visit one of several Ivar’s locations for food and entertainment.

So why do I add Ivar’s to the Vending News of the How2vend.com blog you ask? Because Ivar’s was able to pull off the publicity worthy stunt of making a vending machine for their April fool’s day prank. So Ivar’s was reported to roll out a new line of vending machine kiosk in various parts of Seattle that allowed consumers to purchase Ivar’s how and fresh Clam chowder through. In addition to famous clam chowder you could have fresh espresso on the side or in your chowder.

Consumer’s and local news ate Ivar’s Clam Chowder Kiosk hook line and sinker. Wow did they score when it came toIvar's Clam Chowder April Fools kiosk publicity. Even though Ivar’s kiosk was unveiled as an April fool’s day prank they may have stumbled upon a very lucrative distribution niche.
